Ebbisham Badminton section was designated a Performance Centre in 2009 - There is only one per county.
The BADMINTON England Performance Centres programme is focused on developing a Performance pathway to run alongside a strong Club pathway to raise standards of play throughout the country. The aspiration of a Badminton Performance Centre is to create a hub of badminton activity where players, coaches and volunteers can progress, reach their potential and satisfy their own ambition within the sport, and in an environment that is accessible and welcoming for all.
Training takes place at the following times
Selected juniors are also invited to join the adult sections, attend their sessions and play in club teams
PC players are encouraged (and as they progress expected) to take part in competitions and to play in junior county teams. The older players also play in adult sections of the club, taking part in club sessions and play in adult teams.

PC FUN AND GAMES FOR HALLOWEEN + parent/player seminar
The Friday before half term all Performance Centre players were invited to come together for an evening of fun games led by Coach Steve Jacobs – fancy dress was optional, but most entered into the spirit of Halloween with some scary outfits.
With all the players suitably exhausted, they and their parents partook of a splendid bring-and-share buffet. This was followed by the parent/player seminar, with presentations from coaches, older players and experienced badminton mums, covering training regimes, diet and competitions. The highlight of the evening was a talk by 21 year-old Epsom born Georgina Bland. She has recently achieved success on the senior circuit and is a member of the Surrey Smashers team in the National Badminton League. Georgina gave a fascinating insight into her move from junior to senior level and our players were all ears to get hints on what they need to do to emulate her achievements. PC NEWS AUGUST 2014
24 hour badminton marathon and WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
Our Badminton Performance Centre Juniors are organising a 24 hour badminton marathon on 29/30 August (Friday 6.00pm to Saturday 6.00pm).
On the Friday and overnight they will be playing amongst themselves, but they are extending an invitation to everyone (and that’s not just badminton players) to join them on court any time on Saturday from 10.00am onwards. There will be lots going on during the day – challenge matches, exhibitions, racket testing, raffle, BBQ, competitions and other fun activities – in fact something for everyone. Come and stay as long as you like.
The day will conclude at 4.00pm with an attempt on the world record for the most people in a badminton rally. If you remember we feel a little short in our attempt last year, so we really need your help.
And if you can’t make it in person, please sponsor one of the PC Juniors or buy a raffle ticket in aid of the Ebbisham charity for 2014 – Epsom Riding for the Disabled
In July the PC held its annual championships. After testing themselves throughout the year against players from all over the country, now was the chance to see how they fared closer to home. After a series of hard-fought matches, the following emerged triumphant:
